UPCYCLING BRAND

MISSION

A huge amount of clothing is thrown away every year.

Therefore, OUT OF STRUCTURE has set itself as a mission to counteract this problem with upcycling. OUT OF STRUCTURE is a young berlin fashion label that selects and redesigns clothes from second-hand stores to make them wearable again. This gives the opportunity to buy vintage clothes in modern trend style without having to resort to fast fashion. We create pieces that are truly individual and that make your style distinctive.

Help us to find our pieces a new home

Each German citizen puts 16 items of clothing in the used clothing container each year
- this corresponds to a clothing mountain of around 1.1 million tons of textiles per year.
— Reichert, 2019

This increase in consumption is fueled by fast fashion. Fast fashion describes how trends change on a monthly basis. In this process, garments are produced quickly and cheaply to sell to the masses. However, the huge consumption also has serious consequences for the environment and climate change. The textile industry now produces nearly 100 million tons of textile fibers annually, generating around 1.2 billion tons of CO2.

230 million garments are expected to remain unsold in German retail and online trade this year alone, ending up in recycling and waste incineration plants or as junk goods in countries outside the EU. This projection is based on market figures from market research firm Euromonitor International, according to which around 2.3 billion garments will be on offer in the German fashion market in 2019.
